16u WWBA Scout Notes: Day 1


Kentucky commit, Christian Howe (2021 Danville, Ky.), got the start on the hill early morning for his TS Arsenal squad and showed to have a legit three pitch arsenal. The righthanded pitcher showed a high waist with plenty of room to fill out, proving to be projectable. He delivered from a whippy three-quarter slot and went right after hitters as he pounded the strike zone. He ran his fastball up to 89 mph early and then sat in the mid 80’s once he settled in. The heater showed slight cut to it and he worked both sides of the dish with it. The breaking ball was slurvy as he spun it with 11-4 movements. His best off-speed pitch was the changeup as he tunneled it well and pulled the bottom out of it late. Howe ended his outing shorter than he had wished, but the pitchability was visible and he has a great base arsenal to work off of as is prep career begins to come to an end.
