13u World Series Notes: Day 4

13U World Series Notes: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3

Boston Kellner (2025 Woodbury, Minn.) was in total control in his 5.2 innings. Boston scattered around seven hits over his five innings of working, striking out nine in the process. His curveball was his go-to pitch as he has very good feel for it and can throw it in the zone in any count. Boston has a big athletic build with great extension towards the plate. He repeats his delivery movements very well and tends to keep good running action on his fastball when it is down in the zone, topping out at 82 mph.

Dana Williams (2024 North Miami Beach, Fla.) was very impressive today for the 13U Ohio Spiders. He did not miss a barrel as he smashed balls to left field, one of which was a towering home run over the left field wall. Dana has a very athletic build and still has a ton of room to grow and in the box he stays balanced with a simple approach at the plate.

Joel Gurule (2025, Albuquerque, N.M.) has been on fire so far in this World Series hitting well over .300 with 10 RBI, four of which came in Thursday's action. Joel squared up a few balls, one of which hit the center field wall for a stand up triple. He smashed the other over the second baseman for a single. Defensively he moves well, showing very quick feet and makes accurate throws across the diamond to first base. He also competes on the mound as well and shows nice potential as a two-way player.

Adrian Jimenez (2024, Sugar Hill, Texas) we really saw Adrian show us his speed today as he legged out two triples in his three at bats. Both of his triples were driven over the center fielder to the wall. He also drove in 3 runs to go with his already impressive day at the plate. He is very comfortable in the box and attacks pitches in the zone. Adrian is a very athletic player and is very defensively sound at SS.

Danny Machado (2025, Pembroke Pines, Fla.) was dominant Thursday as he pitched a complete game shutout, scattering around three hits while picking up five strikeouts through the seven innings. His control stood out the most, only walking one with a 65% strike percentage. He was working with a two pitch mix most of the game, using his breaking ball as his out pitch. Danny has a very long athletic build and tends to hide the ball well right before his release and he topped at 78 mph with his fastball.
