Ken Krasner joins Perfect Game

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Perfect Game President Jerry Ford has announced that prominent digital media and sports/entertainment marketing executive Ken Krasner has been brought on board to serve as the growing company’s first Chief Strategy, Marketing and Revenue Officer.

Krasner comes to Perfect Game after spending the previous 15 years as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Entertainment for Major League Baseball. Among the many contributions he made while serving in that position was helping oversee MLB’s Arizona Fall League, which is designed to be a finishing school for the game’s top minor league players. Notably, he also brought to MLB Advanced Media its first non-baseball client (Major League Soccer) initiating MLBAM’s/BAMTech non-baseball business.

Krasner’s accomplishments in the sports and entertainment marketing industry are extensive and he is recognized as a pioneer of integrating new technologies and social media marketing strategies with traditional media, advertising and distribution tactics. He has already begun doing consulting work with PG and is fully prepared to hit the ground running.

“I see Jerry, to his credit, realizing the strengths and weaknesses of the company and saying how do we bolster our strengths and how do we shore up our weaknesses,” Krasner said. “I am honored and excited; it’s a class organization with enormous potential. I’m looking forward to building upon the great foundation that Jerry and the whole team have laid. They should be very proud of what they’ve accomplished.

“I’m a builder – more than an operator I’m a builder. Where I’ve been successful in my career is looking five years out and seeing an opportunity and helping to put the pieces in place to capture and optimize the opportunity.”

Krasner possesses an acute understanding of media and entertainment companies, professional sports leagues and teams, consumer brands, venue owner/operators, artists and talent agencies. Having served as an MLB executive for 15 years, he can also provide a valuable personal relationship between Perfect Game and Major League Baseball.

Krasner promises to bring unbridled energy and excitement to his new position while helping keep Perfect Game in place as the world’s most highly respected amateur baseball scouting, recruiting and event platform. He is also the father of a young son who is just embarking on his youth baseball career, so his interest is personally vested, as well.

“I am extremely passionate about youth baseball,” Krasner said. “All of these platforms … are equally important in the ecosystem of fan development. Not player development but fan development because 99 percent of these kids won’t make it to the major leagues. But if they have a consistent and positive experience with our sport, they will undoubtably be fans for life.”
