Midwest Region: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin

The Midwest Region only has two teams in the Perfect Game High School Top 50 to start the season, but it is a deep and talented part of the country with four PG All-Americans in the senior class and one of the strongest junior classes in the country.

Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep in suburban Detroit starts the season as the 19th-ranked team in the country and is led by two Dream Team underclassmen in shortstop Alex Mooney and sophomore outfielder Nolan Schubart. Overall, there is as much prep talent in Michigan right now as at any time in the past, which is perhaps not coincidental with the University of Michigan’s rise to the upper tier of college baseball.

Edwardsville High School, leg by slugging Dream Team first baseman Drake Westcott, is the top team in Illinois and checks in at 30th in the preseason rankings.

C – Austin Bode
Bode committed to Louisville early in his freshman year and was a participant in the 2017 Perfect Game 14u Select Festival, so the Indiana junior has been on the national baseball radar for some time already. His best present tool is his lefthanded bat, and at 5-foot-11, 195-pounds, Bode is plenty strong enough to impact the ball and hit for power at a premium defensive position.
