Baylor

Steve Rodriguez’ program is certainly up-trending but Baylor will need to replace the guts of what was a special position player group. Shortstop Nick Loftin continues to impress and he could end up playing himself into the first round of next June’s draft. Jimmy Winston did an admirable job in the rotation in 2019 and his velocity has ticked up to 92 mph with his familiar sink.

Two newcomers of note have been center fielder Jared McKenzie and righthander Will Rigney. McKenzie excelled in center field this fall while also swinging the bat at a high level. Rigney is a 6-foot-5 power arm who worked in the 92-94 mph range with a plus slider.
