In their first year of existence, the Traverse City Pit Spitters were crowned the 2019 Northwoods League champions, following a walk-off win over the Eau Claire Express. Led by Pitcher of the Year Andrew Hoffmann, the Pit Spitters finished the regular season with an eye-popping 52-20 record. Following the tremendous regular season they went a perfect 4-0 in the playoffs, capturing the league crown.

With 22 teams spread across seven different states, the Northwoods League remains one of the most expansive and well-known summer leagues in the country. Since it’s conception in 1994, the NWL has produced plenty of MLB Draft talent and the league does a good job to showcase their top prospects between the All-Star Game in July and the Major League Dreams Showcase in August.

Compiled below is a list of the Top 30 professional prospects that were in attendance at one of those two events. Led by top prospect Luke Little – yet another big-bodied, power arm from San Jacinto that could be in the mix for the early rounds of next year’s draft – following the top prospect list are reports on the Top 20 players.

Top 10 Prospects: Luke Litte, San Jacinto; Will Klein, Eastern Illinois; Mason Bryant, Texas; Luke Sommerfeld, no school; TJ Reeves, Alabama, Erik Kaiser, Vanderbilt; Maxwell Rippl, Kent State; Justin Bigbie, Western Carolina; Austin Smith, Southwestern; Jack Filby, UCLA.
