For the eighth straight week the UCLA Bruins hold the top spot in the Perfect Game College Top 25. However, for the fifth time in seven weeks there's a new team at No. 2 with Vanderbilt the latest to move up into that position. The No. 2 spot hasn't been kind to teams in recent weeks, as Oregon State is the most recent victim, suffering a sweep at home to the hands of visiting Oklahoma State. Mississippi State (on two separate occasions), Georgia and Stanford are the other three teams in just over a month's time that suffered losses in the two-spot.

Vanderbilt leap-frogs Stanford with a perfect 4-0 week in which they were really clicking on all cylinders, out-scoring their opponents (Tennessee Tech and South Carolina) 58-26. JJ Bleday continues to be an extra-base machine hitting two more homers, a double and a triple in those four games while Austin Martin is arguably the nation's most dangerous leadoff man.

Other notable weekend series wins includes Ole Miss beating LSU, in Baton Rouge, and Texas Tech sweeping Oklahoma in Norman, TTU's second straight Big 12 sweep after pulling the hat-trick last weekend against Oklahoma State. Josh Jung, who has been playing shortstop for the Red Raiders recently, has been especially locked in at the plate going 11-for-20 in four games, and seven of those 11 hits went for extra bases (five doubles, two homers).

Georgia Tech and Georgia both forced their way into the Top 10 with sweeps over Western Carolina and Florida, respectively.

After beating Tennessee in Knoxville two games to one Missouri replaces the Volunteers in the Top 25. BYU also enters with a significant series win over Loyola Marymount that puts them in sole possession of first place in the West Coast Conference. Oklahoma State, who as noted swept Oregon State in Corvallis, also enters the rankings after getting knocked out a week ago.

Arizona State – who has now lost four of their last five weekend series and are 8-11 after starting the year 25-1 – and Indiana join Tennessee as the three teams that were removed this week.
