Texahoma Region Dream Team

C - Drew Romo, Jr., The Woodlands HS (Texas)
Romo has long been lauded for his defensive abilities behind the plate, as he's one of the top defensive catchers in the country regardless of age. With very good blocking and receiving skills to go along with exemplary catch-and-throw skills, Romo absolutely shuts down the running game of any team he plays against, and looks good doing so. Offensively, Romo is a switch-hitter who shows balance and bat speed from both sides of the plate to go along with developing raw power, giving him a truly enticing overall profile. 

1B - Brett Baty, Sr., Lake Travis HS (Texas)
Baty established himself as one of the best prep bats in the country over the course of 2018, swinging the bat well in every event he attended, and doing so with prodigious power as well. A lefthanded hitter, Baty's offensive profile is not an all-or-nothing type deal, as he displays very good hit-ability to go along with that raw pop. Defensively, he profiles pretty well at third base with quality hands and arm strength, but is also a very solid defender at 1st base and could potentially see time at both spots at the next level. 

2B - Masyn Winn, Jr., Kingwood HS (Texas)
Winn could have certainly warranted the UT spot on this list, as he's an extremely talented righthanded pitcher as well, who has run his fastball up to the mid-90s in the past at PG events. He is, primarily, an infielder/hitter, however, and should play both pretty quickly once he gets to Arkansas. With plenty of athleticism and an extremely strong arm, Winn plays the middle infield at a high level already, and offensively shows very fast hands at the plate with a smooth, quick stroke that finds the barrel often with authority. 

SS - Bobby Witt Jr, Sr., Colleyville Heritage HS (Texas)
One of the early favorites, as he has been for some time now, to go first overall in the MLB Draft this June, Bobby Witt Jr has been a joy to watch develop over the past several years. He's a true 5 tool talent, with none of his tools being below average and most of them looking closer to plus than average. He's a plus athlete who plays a dynamic middle infield, has a plus throwing arm, projects to hit and projects to hit for power as well, not to mention that having MLB bloodlines doesn't hurt either. He's a truly special talent who we look forward to watching play in the Major Leagues someday. 

3B - Sanson Faltine III, Sr., William B. Travis HS (Texas) 
Faltine, like Masyn Winn, could have also easily earned the nod in the UT spot given his two-way ability, but he slots into the third base spot for this list. A Perfect Game All-American, Faltine has long-performed on big stages, both as a position player and as a pitcher. Offensively, there is plenty to like about Faltine's loose wrists, quality bat speed, and quickly-developing power; while on defense he shows the range and hands to play shortstop long term, while the arm strength is an above-average tool as well. 

OF - Jace Bohrofen, Jr., Westmoore HS (Okla.)
Bohrofen, one of the few underclassmen on this list, looks like he might be one of the top impact hitters in the class of 2020 as a whole, not just in the Texahoma region. He's a corner outfielder whose arm strength is definitely enough to play right field, as it's at least an average tool right now, but the draw with Bohrofen is and is going to be his lefthanded bat, which has a chance to be special. He's smooth through his swing with plenty of loft and bat speed, and his raw power is pretty substantial right now and should only increase given his physical projection. 

OF - Sam Thompson, Sr., Owasso HS (Okla.)
Thompson earns quality grades up and down his scouting card, giving him a well-rounded toolset that makes him a candidate for early playing time at TCU, where he's committed. A lefthanded hitter with plenty of bat speed, Thompson is also pretty physically strong, and that gives him substantial pop to the pullside right now. He's a good athlete, above-average runner, and has quality arm strength as well, giving him the versatility to potentially play any of the 3 outfield spots at the next level, including center field. 

OF - Logan Britt, Sr., Colleyville Heritage HS (Okla.)
Britt, a Perfect Game All-American, has a loud collection of tools and the physicality/athleticism necessary for him to fit right into the ideal right field profile. He's got great size and quality athleticism for that size, and his plus arm gives him another defensive weapon at his disposal. Offensively, he's still raw with the bat but there is a tremendous amount of strength and subsequent raw power at his disposal, giving him some of the highest upside in the prep class. 

UT - Bryce Osmond, Sr., Jenks HS (Okla.)
Osmond would be a high-level prospect even if he'd never stepped onto a mound before, but given his abilities on the mound, he's the easy call for the UT spot this year. A plus athlete and plus runner who can swing the bat and play shortstop at a high level, Osmond would certainly warrant high-level scouting looks at him as a positional player, but he seems to have even high upside on the mound, where his athleticism and ease of operation make him an even more intriguing pitching prospect. He's run his fastball up to 95 mph and shown flashes of a plus slider, as well. 

P - Matthew Thompson, Sr., Cypress Ranch HS (Texas) 
One of the highest-upside arms in the country, Thompson has been on our radar for quite some time now. With excellent present size and athleticism to go along with double-plus arm speed and projection remaining, Thompson looks the part of a first round draft choice, to be sure. He's reached the mid-90s with his fastball, peaking as high as 96 mph in PG events, and though a bit inconsistent at times, his breaking ball often shows as a plus pitch as well, capable of missing bats with ease. 

P - JJ Goss, Sr., Cypress Ranch HS (Texas) 
Goss combines with Thompson to give Cypress Ranch potentially the best 1-2 punch of any prep team in the country, and you can bet that scouts will spend a lot of time at that ballpark this spring. Goss works in the mid-90s with his fastball at times, generally sitting in the 90-94 mph range and touching higher, but his breaking ball is amongst the best in the country and his command of that usually-plus pitch, as well as his ability to manipulate it/change speeds with it really sets him apart. 

P - William Rigney, Sr., Midway HS (Texas) 
Rigney absolutely looks the part of a power righthanded pitching prospect, with excellent size and very good projection remaining, as well. His long limbs aid in his deception, and he does a pretty good job controlling his length through his delivery, speaking to his athleticism. He worked up to 94 mph with his fastball last summer and it wouldn't surprise anyone if he's already throwing harder than that, and his breaking ball, a pitch that projects as plus, gives the Baylor commit another weapon. He's a high-priority follow for the draft this summer. 

P - Jared Kelley, Jr., Refugio HS (Texas) 
The lone junior pitcher on the Dream Team, Kelley is the No. 7-ranked player in the 2020 class overall and looks the part of a future first rounder. With good size and physicality to go along with excellent arm speed and remaining projection, Kelley already sits 94-96 mph to open games and does so with ease. He has an advanced three-pitch mix with his curveball and changeup, demonstrating advanced feel for both, and will be amongst the highest-priority follows for National-level scouts this summer. 

P - Kale Davis, Sr., Westmoore HS (Okla.) 
Davis threw a perfect game during the 17u WWBA National Championship, striking out 14 hitters on only 85 pitches, and that singular performance in combination with the totality of his profile earn him the nod here. Davis is a well-built righthander with good stuff, including a low-90s fastball along with a good curveball and changeup, and he commands them all extremely well for a prep pitcher, giving him the ability to keep hitter's off-balance throughout games, even into the late innings.
