Fall Baseball is the first sign that the next college baseball season has officially begun to take shape. This fall is particularly interesting since “fall games” have been reinstated and each program can play two such contests.

Over the next five weeks, our fall notebooks will focus on two main topics: what are the areas of intrigue for teams coming into the 2019 season and who is standing out this fall. When applicable, we’ll look for important newcomers who could have an immediate impact.

Programs covered: Arizona State, Texas Tech, Florida, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, Florida State, East Carolina, Dallas Baptist.

Arizona State

The Sun Devils deployed one of the youngest lineups in America in 2018 and they should reap the rewards of that in 2019. Hunter Bishop has been the star of the fall in Tempe and he had a whopping 15 extra-base hits through the first 12 fall scrimmages. The tooled-up Bishop, who was a former Pac-12 football recruit, could be the perfect candidate to hit behind defending national home run champion Spencer Torkelson.
