2019 Top Prospects

Jorel Ortega  SS - 2019 - Lake Worth, FL
Tennessee/Ulster County CC

A Tennessee commit, Ortega had one of the strongest performances of the weekend, showing off a plus arm up to 93 mph across the diamond. He moves extremely well for his size, gliding to either side, and the offensive approach is very enticing with some barrel whip, bat speed, and gets extended well through the point of contact.

Jose Fulgencio  SS - 2019 - Orlando, FL
Hillsborough CC

A large, physical shortstop, Fulgencio showed off the arm strength early by touching 92 mph from the outfield and having that play well at short. The actions and footwork were exemplary during drills and the offensive swing has a lot of components that bode well for the future including power, barrel whip, and bat speed.

Robert Sotolongo  SS - 2019 - Miami, FL
Florida International

A Florida International commit, Sotolongo had one of the more polished all-around performances of the event. With present physicality and athleticism, ran a 6.84 second 60-yard dash time, Sotolongo has smooth actions at short while the swing itself is very consistent, with plenty of raw bat speed and a sweet swing plane.

Jake French  OF - 2019 - Winter Springs, FL

French had a pretty solid weekend all the way around, particularly with his good arm strength that was recorded up to 89 mph from the outfield. He posted an impressive run time of 7.06 seconds in the 60-yard dash, and he got onto a lofted swing plane consistently with lots of projectable power on that frame too.

Luke Baker  LHP - 2019 - Naples, FL

Baker, and his projectable 6-foot-5 frame, offers tremendous upside, with a fastball that worked in the mid-80s topping out at 86 mph and a very good breaking ball. The curveball showed 1/7 shape with good spin and the ability to land for strikes. He repeats and creates some angle and might just be scratching his potential ceiling.

Gregory Martinez  RHP - 2019 - Southwest Ranches, FL
Louisiana Tech

A strong, powerful righthanded pitcher, Martinez topped at 87 mph for the weekend on the mound with a fluid delivery, tempo, and lots of downhill plane. Martinez gets lots of extension toward the plate with good life and landed his curveball for strikes well; there's two-way potential with lots of power in the righthanded stick.

Miguel Larreal  SS - 2019 - Orlando, FL
Hillsborough CC

A long-limbed, physical middle infielder, Larreal had a good weekend with athletic actions and a lot of smoothness to his hands. He throws from multiple slots and showed leverage, pull side juice offensively. The offensive profile has a very high ceiling and he fits the mold of a power hitting middle infielder going forward.

Michael Machin  C - 2019 - Miami Lakes, FL
Palm Beach State

Machin recorded the top catcher velocity of the event by throwing 82 mph seeds to second base during drills and posting a top pop time of 1.97 seconds. Machin gets through the ball nicely with clean footwork, carry on throws, and the offensive profile looks promising with lots of strength off the barrel head.

Drake Chamberlin  SS - 2019 - Palm City, FL

Chamberlin is a hard-nosed player who performed in all facets this weekend and showed out well during games. He took a loud session of batting practice with fluidity, rhythm, and leverage while going all out defensively and saving a good number of plays.

Efrain Ruiz  OF - 2019 - Moca, PR
Uncommitted

Ruiz had the ability to showcase his athletic actions both in the outfield as well as in the infield during the event. His footwork is clean and he works through the baseball well gaining solid ground to his target. The native of Puerto Rico topped out at 85 mph from the outfield and also had a high exit velocity off of the tee of 89 mph.

Thomas Peltier  LHP - 2019 - North Tonawanda, NY
Canisius

Peltier has a lot of quality components that bode well as a collegiate prospect moving forward. The 6-foot-2 lefthander from New York is very lanky and physically projectable, while he ran his fastball up to 83 mph with plenty of angle. He works quickly and showed the ability to land his big breaking curveball for strikes.

Anthony Mannarino  RHP - 2019 - Lutz, FL
Flagler College

Mannarino is a primary first baseman, but stood out in particular for his contributions on the mound as a righthanded pitcher. He utilizes a short, quick arm stroke to run his fastball up to 86 mph and in the low-to-mid -80s consistently with sink and life. The curveball was a good pitch with tight break and he could land for strikes.


2020 Top Prospects

Corbin Grantham  OF - 2020 - Gainesville, FL
Mississippi State

Grantham stood out from the moment the event started as he posted the top 60-yard dash time of a blazing 6.37 seconds. The speed and advanced defensive feel in the outfield are obviously positives but the swing itself is pretty good too with a compact, quick path and the ability to generate lots of strength through the point of extension.

Alen Bass  OF - 2020 - Bradenton, FL

Bass showed off his impressive speed by posting a 60-yard dash time of 6.66 seconds in the opening stage of this event. There is quickness to his hands offensively with a compact bat path, and he showed the ability to display his bat-to-ball skills while being able to put the ball in play and allow his speed to take hold.

Ivan Zambrano  OF - 2020 - Doral, FL
Eastern Florida State

Zambrano did a little bit of everything this weekend, showing solid offensive tools while throwing in the mid-80s from multiple positions and posting a 60-yard dash time of 6.84 seconds. The tools and skill set are well-rounded while he plays hard and has a smooth, line drive swing plane.

Austin Amaral  RHP - 2020 - Debary, FL
Stetson

A Stetson commit, Amaral posted one of the top pitching velocities of the event with a fastball that lived 85-88 mph and topped out at 89 mph. The arm stroke is loose, the frame ripe for physical projection, and he showed three pitches that he could use effectively.

John Martin  OF - 2020 - Port Saint Lucie, FL
Palm Beach State

Martin showed off impressive two-way ability with tools at the plate and the ability to run his fastball up into the upper-80s. Martin has a fast swing with a consistent, repeatable swing plane and that arm strength gives him a weapon from the outfield as throws comes out of the hand very clean.

Turner Thompson  RHP - 2020 - Tampa, FL
Tulane

Thompson showed a lot of things to like from a righthanded pitcher with a quick arm and three pitches for strikes. The righthander worked up to 86 mph with the fastball and mixed in a sharp, tight slider that was his best secondary pitch, though he could land a firm changeup for strikes as well.

Roberto Lopez  OF - 2020 - Miramar, FL

Lopez is a real high-energy prospect with legitimate tools offensively and defensively. He turned in a sub-7.00 second 60-yard dash time while working in the mid-80s from the outfield. He stole multiple bases in game and the swing is pretty quick, with an easy trigger and requisite hand and bat speed.

Javier Acevedo  RHP - 2020 - Aguadilla, PR

Acevedo, a primary righthanded pitcher, showed some serious arm strength this weekend by running his fastball up to 87 mph. The compact arm stroke is easy to repeat and he showed three pitches including a breaking ball and a tumbling changeup that gave him a weapon against lefthanded hitters.

Adriel Mendoza  OF - 2020 - Cayey, PR

Mendoza did a little bit of everything during the event, showing out well in most facets of the game. He turned in a sub-7.00 second 60-yard dash time, while throwing in the low-80s from the outfield. Mendoza took a strong BP round as well showing some leverage to pull and some juice.


2021 Top Prospects

Satchell Norman  C - 2021 - Sarasota, FL
Florida Southwestern State College

A recent Florida State commit, Norman is a strong prospect with power and a very strong arm from behind the dish. Norman threw 79 mph from behind the plate and popped a 1.88 second time during drills while showing plenty of bat speed while turning hard over the inside part of the plate to generate high exit velocities.

Ryan Scarry  OF - 2021 - Miami, FL
Marshall

Scarry has a lot of present speed and quick twitch athleticism for a young prospect, posting one of the best 60-yard dash times of the event with a 6.60 second time. Scarry has a line drive swing plane with some present bat-to-ball skills as well with fluidity and smoothness from the outfield.

Jackson Mayo  OF - 2021 - St. Johns, FL
South Florida

Mayo had a very good weekend, impressing in most facets of the game with the tools, projection, and present skill to be a high end prospect. The 6-foot-1 lefthanded hitter turned in a 6.72 second 60-yard dash time while showing looseness and whip from the left side of the plate and has a good number of positive indicators.

Aiden Mastantuno  1B - 2021 - Fleming Island, FL
Florida State

Recent Florida State commit showed good pitchability along with a fastball that reached 80 mph from his lefthanded arm. Mastantuno has a full arm action creating a lot soft contact or swings and misses to opposing hitters during his rain delayed outing on the mound. The offensive profile is exciting too with significant leverage loft, and projectable power.

Aaron Saltsman  OF - 2021 - Rockledge, FL
College of Central Florida

Saltsman is another athletic, toolsy prospect as he recorded a sub-7.00 second 60-yard dash time and throwing 87 mph from the outfield. The positional versatility plays nicely and he gets on plane well offensively with a loose, fluid stroke and created a lot of consistently hard line drive contact to the middle of the field.


2022 Top Prospects

Brayden Bell  RHP - 2022 - Melbourne, FL
Webber International University

Bell has all the components scouts and coaches look for out of a young prospect: easy operation, clean arm stroke, and feel for the breaking ball. The fastball worked mostly in the upper-70s and he mixed in his sharp breaking ball well, pitching backwards at times with very good pitchability and projection to the operation.
