13u PG World Series Preview

Nate Schweers

EMERSON, Ga. – The 4th Annual 13u Perfect Game World Series begins on June 17.  Thirty-two teams from 17 different states will convene in the Greater Atlanta area to battle for the title of PG World Series champions.

While there will be many familiar faces from the southeast United States – teams such as the Motor City Hitdogs from southeast Michigan and the San Diego Show from California – will come to town looking to show their mettle.

The 32 teams will play in four pools of eight teams, with the top two teams from each pool advancing to a single elimination winner’s bracket. The six-day tournament will include a five-game guarantee for all the participating teams, with the championship game taking place at LakePoint on Friday, June 22.

Tournament Directory Justin Amidon has noted that while the event is still in its first few years, it should be full of excitement.

“Our 13u Perfect Game World Series is going into its fourth year," Amidon said. "We have seen both positive growth in the event and a rise in competition level each year. We have 32 teams in town with 16 different states being represented.  I’m excited to see these teams take the field starting Saturday, and see what team proves to be the best in the country.”

The MVP Banditos won the inaugural 13u PG World Series in 2015 and the last two years have seen championships from the Academy Select Sun Devils (2016) and Elite Squad (2017).
