2014 Top Prospects

Jacob Sylvester  RHP - 2014 - Olathe, KS
Iowa Western CC

The 6-foot-6, 235-pound right-handed pitcher showed good jump out of hand with a fastball that topped at 92 miles per hour. Sylvester established the strike zone early with his fastball before working in a 10/4 slider late in counts. The 2014 was able to consistently miss barrels and induce weak contact.


2017 Top Prospects

Colton Talton  1B - 2017 - Pueblo, CO
Linn-Benton CC

Talton has a strong, compact build that transfers well into his swing. The 2017 grad utilized a quick, direct hand path to contact that generates very good bat speed through extension. When squared, Talton produced very hard, loud contact with excellent carry to the gaps.


2018 Top Prospects

Connor Van Scoyoc  RHP - 2018 - Cedar Rapids, IA
Arizona State

Van Scoyoc impressed while on the mound displaying a very poised, mature presence. The Arizona State commit worked his fastball up to 92 miles per hour while commanding the bottom quadrants of the strike zone. The 6-foot-5 right hander also featured a devastating breaking ball that showed very tight spin with late, hard depth.

Clayton Nettleton  RHP - 2018 - Davenport, IA
Kirkwood CC

Nettleton was stellar on the mound showing a smooth, repeatable delivery. The University of Iowa commit consistently located his fastball to the bottom of the zone, but also showed the ability to work up to create swings and misses at 93 miles per hour. The 2018 grad also showed very good feel for a sharp 11/5 breaking ball and fading change up.

Levi Usher  OF - 2018 - Fairfax, IA
Louisville/Kirkwood CC

Usher displayed his usual high athletic actions at the Pre-Draft showcase posting a 6.50 sixty-yard dash and topping at 95 miles per hour from the outfield. The Fairfax, IA native utilized a smooth swing path that generated easy bat speed through extension that allowed for easy power to each gap.

Tristin Lively  RHP - 2018 - Las Cruces, NM
New Mexico

The New Mexico commit showed excellent arm whip through extension with a fastball offering that created heavy run in the low 90's, topped at 92 miles per hour. Lively consistently changed speeds and induced weak contact each inning showing a sweeping 10/4 slider and sinking change up.

Andrew Irvine  RHP - 2018 - Clive, IA
Iowa

The University of Iowa commit showed tremendous feel for his fastball, breaking ball and change up offerings. Irvine established the strike zone with his fastball well and flashed the ability to create cut to glove side and run to arm side with his change up.

Blaine Gillim  LHP - 2018 - Hartford, KY
Wabash Valley College

The 6-foot-1 left hander hid the baseball very well while utilized an uptempo, deceptive delivery. Gillim's fastball consistently jumped on hitters sitting in the upper 80's, topped at 90 miles per hour. The Santa Fe College commit flashed a quality swing and miss breaking ball that matched the slot and arm speed of his fastball offering.

Kyler Fedko  SS - 2018 - Gibsonia, PA
University of Connecticut

The UCONN commit showed athletic actions throughout the day posting a 6.97 sixty-yard dash and throwing 86 miles per hour across the infield. Fedko's best tool is his bat where he shows an impressive mix of barrel control and projectable raw power.

Brayden Frazier  IF - 2018 - Cedar Rapids, IA
Iowa

Frazier, a University of Iowa commit, displayed polished actions defensively with good arm strength. Offensively, the Cedar Rapids native showed quality barrel control paired with bat speed. When balanced, Frazier shows the present offensive skills to drive the ball with authority to all fields with ease.

Tyler Lewis  RHP - 2018 - West Des Moines, IA
Iowa Western CC

Lewis, a Indian Hills CC commit, showed a heavy fastball that created late, hard cut to glove side in the low 90's, topped at 93 miles per hour. The 2018 grad aggressively attacked hitters with his fastball offering and flashed solid feel for an 11/5 breaking ball.

Zach Smith  1B - 2018 - Jeffersonton, VA
Harford CC

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound first baseman showed an aggressive approach at the plate with present bat speed. Smith throws the bat head to contact very well with a naturally leveraged barrel plane that creates very good carry to the gaps when squared.


2019 Top Prospects

Chase Krogman  OF - 2019 - Dardenne Prairie, MO
Missouri State

The Missouri State commit displayed good arm strength from the outfield topping at 90 miles per hour. Offensively, Missouri native showed good balanced in his swing with a smooth linear barrel plane. Krogman flashed the ability to turn the barrel head aggressively to contact and generate loud carry to the gaps.


2020 Top Prospects

Calvin Harris  C - 2020 - Peosta, IA
Mississippi

Harris has made large strides defensively behind the plate and displayed quick, explosive actions at the pre draft popping an event best 1.90. At the plate, the University of Mississippi commit consistently worked to all fields with ease while flashing projectable raw power when throwing the barrel head to contact.
