2018 Top Prospects

Jared Smith  C - 2018 - Gainesville, GA
South Georgia College

Smith really shined defensively, as he combines very advanced footwork and high level athleticism with a plus arm behind the plate. His 1.87 pop time and 6.82 sixty are just two measurables that account for what is easy to see. Smith has a power right handed approach at the plate and plenty of raw bat speed.

Preston Hagan  SS - 2018 - Lawrenceville, GA
Uncommitted

Hagan doesn't have a college commitment but he definitely has the tools to play at the next level, along with a 3.9 GPA in the classroom. He has middle infield actions defensively to go with plenty of arm strength, plus a strong right handed swing with present bat speed.

Xavier Wilson  2B - 2018 - Lithonia, GA
Wallace CC-Dothan

Wilson is a twitchy athlete with speed and first step quickness on the bases and on defense in the middle of the field. He especially stood out in games with his bat, knocking a home run during his first game and three extra base hits in his second game.

Wes Tatum  OF - 2018 - West Monroe, LA
Louisiana Tech

Tatum has easy and obvious plus running speed, with a 6.61 time in the sixty along with a blazing 4.01 home to first time from the left side. His left handed swing has lots more bat speed than the normal speed player's and he can drive the ball into the gaps.

Indiana Stanley  C - 2018 - Cumming, GA
Evansville/East Georgia College

Stanley is a very good raw athlete for a primary catcher and it showed especially well in the drills. He threw 79 mph and popped a 1.85 during catching drills and ran a 6.91 in the sixty. Stanley's right handed swing is short and quick and he has a high average approach at the plate.

Nolan Daniel  RHP - 2018 - Dublin, GA
Purdue/Tallahassee CC

Daniel has an extra big but well proportioned 6-4/235 build and a well managed delivery. He worked steadily in the 86-88 mph range with his fastball and developed more and more feel for a 78-80 mph slider as his outing progressed.

Braden Albright  RHP - 2018 - Cumming, GA
Uncommitted

Albright looks like a pitcher at 6-5/190 but interestingly also ran a 6.77 to show his athleticism. He has a loose and easy arm action from an extended 3/4's arm slot on the mound and topped out at 87 mph with plenty more there as he matures physically.

Jacob Pitts  OF - 2018 - Smyrna, GA
Huntingdon College

Pitts arm made an impression, with a strong throw from right field to get a runner, plus an 85 mph fastball on the mound. The right handed hitter also had multiple extra base hits in the games and showed the ability to drive the ball to all fields.

Cole Phillips  OF - 2018 - Trion, GA
Uncommitted

Phillips was one of the top hitting prospects at the event, with a strong 6-2/198 build and a fast left handed swing that showed both pull power and the ability to square the ball up consistently.

Cole Garrett  RHP - 2018 - Marietta, GA
Liberty University

Garrett has a sound, easy delivery and a consistent mid-80's fastball that he commanded well and showed good movement. He also threw both his curveball and change up for strikes, with his change up being the better offering this outing.

Daniel Livnat  LHP - 2018 - Dunwoody, GA
Massachusetts

Livnat is a classic three-pitch left hander with an advanced feel for mixing his pitches and getting hitters off balance. He topped out at 84 mph on his his fastball and got lots of outs with a sharp 70 mph curveball and lively 73 mph change up.

Markell Graham  OF - 2018 - Fayetteville, GA
Uncommitted

Graham is a high level athlete with 6.61 speed and a strong throwing arm that will keep improving with better footwork in the outfield. He generates plenty of right handed bat speed and could blossom at the plate with some adjustments.

2019 Top Prospects

Myles Austin  SS - 2019 - Smyrna, GA
New Orleans/Wabash Valley College

Austin has made his national reputation and ranking (#31) on the basis of his high level athleticism and projection but we're not so sure he might not eventually end up as a primary pitcher. He has limited experience on the mound but was up to 90 mph with a very fast arm and some feel for spinning the ball.

William Hamiter  SS - 2019 - Tuscaloosa, AL
Alabama

Hamiter really stood out in the games for his polished ability and especially with his bat. He lined three extra base hits in one game, two down the left field line and one down the right field line, as he recognized pitches and pounced on them with authority.

Robert Tillman  OF - 2019 - Columbus, GA
Uncommitted

Tillman has an interesting combination of tools, highlighted by his projectable 6-2/175 build and his 6.58 speed in the sixty. A right handed hitter, Tillman has a distinct downward plane to his swing but showed the bat speed and barrel whip to hit multiple back spin home runs in BP.

Elijah Dale  SS - 2019 - Saint Louis, MO
Kansas State

Dale is a solid all around athlete who can do a bit of everything well on the baseball field. He's a switch-hitter with good bat speed from both sides of the plate, has balanced athletic actions in the middle of the field defensively and even showed a mid-80's fastball with a quality curveball on the mound.
