March 28 Top 25Top 150 Junior College Prospects

Despite a bit of a struggle (by their standards) a few weeks ago, Chipola (Fla.) came roaring back with a vengeance this week, posting a 3-1 record in a series win over previously ranked Gulf Coast State (Fla.), cementing their hold on the No. 1 spot for yet another week.

Jones County (Miss.) stayed hot and as a result maintained the No. 2 spot, having a 27-1 record overall and putting together yet another undefeated week. LSU-Eunice (Lous.) jumped one spot to No. 3 and currently sits with a 31-6 record overall. Santa Rosa (Calif.) and Santa Fe (Fla.) each followed suit and bumped up one spot each to Nos. 4 and 5, respectively.

Rounding out the top 10 is No. 6 Connors State (Okla.), who fell three spots from No. 3 last week, No. 7 Chattahoochee Valley (Ala.) and No. 8 Dyersburg State (Tenn.), each up one spot over a week ago, No. 9 San Jac (Texas), who jumped up three spots after an impressive week, and No. 10 McLennan (Texas), who stayed static this week.

Dyersburg State (Tenn.) has risen steadily this season and currently sits at a remarkable 32-3 overall, 14-0 in conference. Grayson (Texas) is back up to No. 16 overall and has currently won 11 consecutive games; quite a hot streak.

San Joaquin Delta (Calif.) is our lead picture this week, having jumped up two spots to No. 13 overall with a 23-5 record overall and an 8-4 mark in conference. Beau Philip, their starting freshman shortstop, is currently tearing the cover off the ball out in Northern California, really not having any issues whatsoever with JuCo pitching. He's hitting .369 thus far, having started every game so far for Delta, with 10 extra-base hits (including three home runs) and an incredible 24-to-15 walk-to-strikeout ratio, to go along with 13 stolen bases. Scouts in NorCal have taken notice and have spent a good deal of time in Stockton evaluating Philip and have come away impressed with his offensive prowess. With him leading the charge offensively, Delta looks like it might just keep rolling all season long.

Rankings are based on games through Sunday, April 2.
