Holmes is a high-waisted, long-legged athlete with top-of-the-scale running speed. He posted an eye opening 6.15 second 60-yard dash time at the PG National Showcase in June and regularly runs around 4.0 seconds from home to first from the right side. Holmes, not surprisingly, also shows outstanding range in center field and could become an elite level defender. He has a very contact, all-fields oriented swing approach at the plate but will flash gap power and has the size, frame and raw bat speed to develop into more than a top-of-the-order table setter once he physically matures.
