Thompson underwent Tommy John surgery in March and will not pitch in the PG All-American Classic but was already showing the potential to be one of the top 10 prospects in the class prior to his injury. Thompson is very athletic for his size and has been a standout performer both offensively and on the mound from a young age. His fastball velocity was starting to creep into the mid-90s early this spring according to professional scouts.
