Tim Cayce is a 2028 RHP/3B/SS with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Perrysburg, OH who attends St. John's Jesuit. Lean young athletic build with lots of room to fill in and get stronger. Works from an abbreviated wind up with a coiled leg raise above the belt, settles into his back hip well and drives down the mound, clean 3/4's arm action. Fastball was in the low 80's and topped out at 84 mph with nice ride up and run down, also threw a cutter off his fastball with some feel. Showed tight spin on a power curveball with some 12/6 shape at times. Turned a change up over. Has all the pitches if he can continue to get stronger. 7.43 runner in the sixty. Secondary outfielder on defense, tends to wait back on the ball and lacks momentum into his throws, quick release on his throws and keeps them low with some carry. Right handed hitter, sets up in a medium base with a heel turn load and still hand start, rotational swing mechanics with a short and direct downhill swing plane, flashed some ability to back spin the ball in gaps, moved the ball around the field. Good student. Named to the Great Lakes Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
