Daniil Rye is a 2022 LHP/1B/OF with a 6-1 150 lb. frame from Stanwood, WA who attends Lakewood. Slender build with lots of room to fill in and get stronger. Works from stretch with a deceptive staggered start, has simple and repeatable mechanics with a 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 76 mph, gets some cutting action on it when he goes glove side. Showed the ability to change the shape and velocity on his breaking ball, worked throughout the 60's spinning the ball to good effect. Knows how to pitch, will keep improving with additional strength. Left handed hitter, hits from a high back elbow load with an inverted front knee start, gets some positive lower half rotation to drive his swing, hits to all fields. 7.01 runner in the sixty. Works through the ball well in the outfield and fields it cleanly. Good student.
