PG Grade: 8
Daniel Houston -- Houston has a very projectable athletic body and showed some strength and ability swinging the bat as well as throwing the ball. Houston has long, lanky arms and legs which he levers well in his pitching and hitting. Houston pitched at 80-83 mph on his fastball but there’s plenty more there as he matures. His best pitch was a 67-69 mph curveball that had very sharp bite on occasion. Houston also threw a 73 mph change up that had some quality to it. He’s definitely a young prospect to keep a close eye on. He threw 84 across the inf and showed nice actions. At the plate he showed a quiet approach and a short quick swing. Good looking hitter, potential 2-way college prospect. Only needs to improve his running ability for the full package.
