2022 PG Softball Winter Scouting Combine - Iowa
Kylie Rudd is a 5-foot-3, class of 2025 1B/OF from Saint Peters, MO. Kylie is a strong, solidly built athletic player, who shows a sound fundamental ability that should get even better as she moves through her playing career. She is also a solid achiever in the classroom. She ran a 6.69 40-yard dash and was timed at 4.28 from home to first. She also posted a 4'4 1/2 standing broad jump. Defensively, her quick feet were very evident around the first base bag. She reads the ball off the bat well and positions routinely. Her soft hands allow her glove to be smooth and consistent. Her 52-mph throws are firm and routinely accurate. At the plate, Kylie's strength is truly noticeable. Although she probably won't bunt too much, she can handle the short game. She is a power hitter! She starts with a balanced and even stance. She has noticeable strength, especially in the lower half. She triggers quickly and has some steepness to her swing plane. She is looking to hurt the ball with each and every pass. When on time and on plane, the ball goes a long way. As she continues to develop consistency with her swing path, Kylie is going to be a very dangerous middle-of-the-order run producer. Her operation works for her! Kylie has the right idea. Her overall game is sound now and will continue to evolve as she adds strength and agility. When she gets the chance to play at a more competitive level, her skill level will take off. With continued attention to detail, Kylie should have the opportunity to play at the next level. Big, bright promise for this young player!!
