2023 West Coast Prospect Showcase
Zack Stein is a 2026 1B/LHP, OF with a proportional 5-10 165 lb. frame from Irvine, CA who attends Santa Margarita Catholic HS. Started the event off clocking a 7.28 60-yard dash. A primary first baseman that pitches as well. At the plate he showed his hand strength and produced excellent bat speed to contact. Stein has the ability to consistently barrel up the baseball and drive it in the gaps as well with one of the better BP rounds of the day. He showed solid athleticism at first base making all the required plays and turning a smooth double play. Throws were accurate and crisp. On the mound he features a 2-pitch mix (FB, CB) out of a low 3/4 arm slot. A command/control pitcher with the ability to repeat his delivery. A strike thrower that can land his secondary offering at will. Posted two innings pitched and collected three strikeouts. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
