KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Afternoon Session
Elexys Allen is a 5'5, class of 2023, RHP/1B, IF from Muscatine, IA who attends Muscatine HS. Elexys is a poised and polished upper class athlete who has projectable ability in the circle, at 1B, and with the bat. She ran a 3.80 20-yard dash with a 1.35 5-yard split. A primary pitcher. Elexys shows strength in her operation that she routinely repeats. She has command of four sound pitches that she ably works to both sides of the plate. Her fastball has a drop component and is a pitch she keeps off the heart of the plate. Her FB is thrown with plus command and control. Her change-up is a tight spinner thrown to the bottom third of the zone. The CH has plus deception and looks like her FB out of the hand. CH has late tumble at the dish. Quality pitch. Her curveball is a tight spinner that has sharp late break and a bit of rise at the end. Finally, her drop ball is thrown primarily to the glove side edge and shows plus spin and heavy, late action. She has plus feel for all her pitches and it appears she can throw all for strikes. Nice mix. Sound operation. Elexys also took a turn at 1B. She has great awareness around the bag and her feet work really well. Her glove is soft and sure and she transitions well, Her 51-mph throws are true. At the plate, this RHH is balanced at the ready and uses a slightly open stance. she has a flatter plane and her strength is evident with each pass. She fires the hips well and her strong hands keep her barrel on course. She has a definite ability to drive the ball a long way. Elexys has definite college level ability and should make the transition to the next level easily. Solid prospect!
