KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Afternoon Session
Lindy Nelson is a 5'6, class of 2024, 3B/C from Panora, IA who attends Panorama HS. Lindy is a young and upcoming player who shows sound fundamental ability at more than one position. She ran a 3.54 20-yard dash with a 1.24 5-yard split. A primary third baseman, Lindy shows emerging defensive ability that will certainly allow her game to grow by leaps and bounds over the next few years. Her feet work well. She positions with ease and consistency. Her glove work shows good form and is sure. Her 50-mph throws are accurate. Something to work with here. Lindy also took a turn with the gear on. She shows sound ability behind the plate. Easy set up with some rhythm to her receiving. Softer hands. She shows some quickness in her transition, and although her 46-mph arm is not quite where she wants it to be, her throwing action says that will get there. Her 2.21 pop time is age appropriate. Good foundation. At the plate, Lindy's game really shines. She has a very good approach to bunting and can handle the short game. She has a solid, balanced base. Her swing operation is admirable. She has a quick trigger and is easy to and through contact. There is quickness to her path and an obvious feel for the barrel. She can impact the ball. There is a little power in her swing and that is sure to get even better as her career continues. Lindy has a promising future and should, over the next three years of HS and travel ball, become even more projectable.
