2022 PG Softball KC Scouting Combine - Fall
Neela Applegate is a 2025 2B/1B, 3B, SS, OF from Earlham, IA who attends Winterset Senior. Neela is a middle infielder who has the potential to compete at the next level as she continues to grow and develop in the sport. She has a very strong athletic foundation and will continue to get better and better. At our Kansas City showcase Neela showcased defensively at second base, and did a great job taking control of the infield. She has a strong arm and does a great job understanding her distance to the bag and adjusting her transfer depending on her distance. Her reaction to the ball east to west where very smooth and athletic and she does a great job maintaining her fundamental position to the ball. Overall very sound second baseman with great potential. Offensively, Neela is a right handed stand in power hitter who demonstrated good barrel head whip and pop off the bat. Has a great understanding for her swing and was able to make adjustments quickly in the box. Not only did she demonstrate good power potential she had a quick first movement and got down the line well. Neela was overall a very strong athlete that has the potential to play at the next level as she continues to work hard.
