Carter Laubach is a 2028 C/RHP with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from Lawrence, KS who attends Lawrence Free State. Solid young athletic build with good strength for his age. 7.87 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, has a very present arm and makes accurate throws with some on line carry, gains ground in his footwork into his throws, exchange and arm action are long but that can improve with repetitions. Also worked out in the infield with third base tools, arm stood out there as well for his age, had an idea with his glove work as well and played under control. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance with a good stride into contact, inside swing path with a mid field to opposite field approach, handled the barrel well, will have the strength to open up his swing sooner rather than later. Also pitched, works from the stretch with a simple delivery. Fastball topped out at 77 mph and was thrown for strikes. Curveball was his best pitch with big 12/6 downer shape, had an impressive inning of work. Named to the 13U/14U South Showcase Top Prospect List.
