Tariq Johnson is a 2021 3B/RHP with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Waldorf, MD who attends North Point. Medium athletic build with good present strength. 7.78 runner in the sixty, moves well laterally on defense, especially to his glove side, bends at the waist to field the ball, some developing arm strength. Hits from a narrow stance with a short stride into contact, uses his strong lower half well to torque his swing and develop bat speed, gets some jump off the barrel at times with pull power potential. Also pitched, short side step delivery with a low hand set, high 3/4's arm slot that produced a fastball that topped out at 78 mph, mostly straight. Curveball flashed good depth at times. Good student.
