Jarrette Bonet is a 2023 RHP/1B with a 6-3 215 lb. frame from Manati, PR who attends Fernando Callejo. Extra-large, broad shouldered frame with physical strength throughout and a mature build. ran a 7.37 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, works exclusively out of the stretch, begins with a leg lift up past belt, shows a long arm action through the back side, works to a three-quarters release point. Shows the ability to get fastball to glove side, topped out at 90 mph, some effort at release but also shows riding life when up in the zone. Shows a feel for the slider and lands it for strikes from a similar release point, up to 76 mph with 10-4 shape and a flashed a changeup at 79 mph. Maintained velocity well throughout outing. Similar arm action on throws across the infield, longer transfer, showed ability to drop slot and worked around the bag with throws. Left-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, tall and open stance. Incorporates strength into swing and shows jump off the barrel when squared, pull heavy approach and looks to elevate at the point of contact, coils at top of load with leg lift. Very good student.
