Albert Wu is a 2008 OF/RHP with a 6'1'', 180 lb. frame from San Marino CA, who attends San Marino HS. Wu has an athletic body type that looks more suited to running track than playing baseball. He has long legs and runs with a bit of a high step gait. If there was a player who played the game harder and with more enthusiasm than Wu at this showcase, we did not see him. Wu is an aggressive hitter. He really digs in and takes his hacks, working to get behind the baseball and swinging with the expectation of hitting the ball hard each time he swings. He has some bat speed and an inside/out hand path. When he puts the ball in play, Wu runs very hard and with his hustle alone he can put some pressure on the defense. In the outfield Wu's effort and determination are just as apparent. He attacks the ball and made low trajectory throws. He has pretty good raw ability that just needs some time to develop. Wu is a top end student and appears to be the type of player that is going to get the most out of his ability. Lack of effort or hustle will never be an issue with Albert Wu.
