Trey Hartnett is a 2023 RHP/OF with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from New Canaan, CT who attends Fairfield College Prep. Taller athletic build with lots of physical projection, prototypical pitcher's build. Works exclusively from the stretch with a high leg raise start, stays very tall over the rubber with a long and deep arm circle in back, high 3/4's arm slot coming through, stays in line well with his arm and hides the ball effectively, gets some torque from his core to drive his arm speed. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, pitch is heavy through the zone with good sink, more velocity there, fastball has a chance to be a real plus pitch with better command when he reaches his physical projection. Threw both a curveball and a slider, slider is the much better present pitch and should be his focus moving forward. Change up was his best secondary pitch this outing with good arm speed, tumbling action and feel for the zone. Key to his development will be improving his breaking ball, the velocity will be there moving forward. Good student. Named to the New York Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
