Luis Olmeda is a 2027 OF/LHP/1B with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Oak Ridge. Medium slender young build with some lean muscle and lots of physical projection ahead. 6.69 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, moves to the ball aggressively, feet work well in his transitions but can carry his momentum in his throws more consistenty, has a clean release from a lower arm slot, big arm strength and made accurate throws, stood out with his defensive tools. Left handed hitter, starts from a balanced straight stance with a simple shift into contact, has quick and twitchy hands that create quality bat speed, turned on some balls and got extended to flash his power potential. Also pitched, works from the far third base side of the rubber, with a short side step delivery, gets over his front side well with a 3/4's arm stroke. Filled up the strike zone with an 88 mph fastball in a quick outing. Good student.
