Shane Overholser is a 2022 RHP/C, 1B, 3B, OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Valencia, CA who attends West Ranch. Medium to large build with room to still strengthen as he continues to develop. Primary pitcher, has a shorter arm action from a high three-quarters slot. Hands come set near his body then come up with his leg lift. Slightly leans back at the top of his lift. Fastball up to 80 mph, locates it well. True four pitch mix with both a curveball and a slider. Curveball has a true 11-to-5 shaped and showcase good depth to the plate. Slider possesses more of a low 11-to-5 shape and comes in around 73 mph. Also mixes in a 71 mph straight change to the plate. Behind the dish, sets up in a side straddle crouch and he's still learning how to use his length. Short arm action plays well, throws stay on line to all bags. Posted a 2.19 second pop time in the catching workouts. At the plate, uses a narrow and open stance with a low leg lift trigger. Throws his hands at the baseball, gets his front foot down early, works through the middle of the field well. Solid feel for the barrel overall. Excellent student in the classroom as well.
