KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Afternoon Session
Jaylynn Brandt is a 5'6, class of 2024 OF/UT from Norwalk, IA who attends Norwalk HS. Jaylynn is a rising player with talent that is rooted in sound fundamental play. She has the skill level that should allow her to have the opportunity to play at the collegiate level. She ran a 3.43 20-yard dash with a 1.30 5-yard split. A primary outfielder, Jaylynn is an emerging standout. Her plus footwork allows her to position quickly and confidently. She plays through the fielding action with momentum and transitions quite well. Her 56-mph throws are firm, hold their plane, and show easy carry. All of her throws are highly accurate. College ready defensive ability! At the plate, this LHH starts with a wider base and incorporates a small leg lift trigger. She has a high back elbow and keeps her barrel above the ball. She has an all fields approach and creates big time back spin on contact. She is especially skilled at driving the ball to the middle of the diamond and opposite field. Plus feel for the barrel and signs that power should come as she matures and is exposed to high level competition. Jaylynn has the right idea. Her current overall game is strong and should get better. Solid upside! Bright future!
