2025 Cedar Rapids Red Organizational Scouting Combine
In the circle, Specht is a left-handed pitcher who has a nice athletic pitching motion and uses her long levers to generate some nice wrist snap. She sits in the high 50's - 60mph range. She throws a fastball, dropball, riseball, and change-up. She throws her change-up out the back of her hand and it stays low in the zone nicely. As she continues to work on keeping her motion fast, it will continue to grow more deceptive. Right now the change sits in the high 40's, which is a nice speed differential. She throws a roll drop that is a consistent pitch for her. Her riseball still needs spin directional work, but has good potential to be a solid pitch for her.
Defensively, Lily Specht provides a good target at 1B, going out and getting the throw. She shows a strong accurate arm and good footwork around the bag. She does a good job attacking bunts and getting low with her transfer to throw.
Offensively, Specht is a left-handed hitter who has a nice athletic stance and is balanced throughout her swing. She drives the ball gap to gap, showing solid contact point awareness. She uses her back side well, firing violently to generate some good pop. She has a solid foundation and a high upside as she continues to refine her game. Keep this one on your radar.
