Aj Keely is a 2023 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-9 142 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ who attends Horizon. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean and projectable build, has room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.51 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front with a wide base, moves well on feet, works to a lower slot on throws, occasionally gets under the ball at release, worked around the bag, arm strength and carry will continue to develop, maintained balance on the charge. Also pitched, full arm action through the back, works to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 73 mph, gets uphill at times, pitched to contact and mixed a curveball up to 59 mph which he landed for strikes down in the zone. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Longer swing path through the zone, rotational swing with a linear swing plane. Shows some back spin off of the barrel, stays short to the ball and projects with strength. Very good student.
