Defensively, Ainsley Johnson is a slick fielding SS that works with her glove out front, head behind the ball, moving her feet well through the ball. She showed she can deliver the ball accurately from varied arm angles and can make the deep back hand throw to 1B. She is incredibly athletic and gets a quick first step. She showcases good range and has a high upside.
Offensively, Johnson is a left-handed hitter who is a true triple threat. She starts in a nice athletic stance and generates a ton of whip and pop. She does a great job utilizing every bit of her frame to generate power. She has great front side resistance and kept her barrel behind the ball well. She showed off her ability to drive the ball to all fields. Pairing that with her incredible speed on the bases and softball IQ, this kid is a next level player for sure. Anyone would be lucky to have her impact their offensive lineup!
