Jacob Cuellar is a 2024 RHP/3B, SS, OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from San Pedro, CA who attends San Pedro. Medium frame with a lean build and beginnings of strength. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary right handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. Medium leg lift and stays balanced on back side at gather. Worked to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a lower three-quarters arm slot. Fastball flashed some riding action out of hand in the upper 60's to mid 70's, topped at 74 mph. Tends to slow arm speed slightly with a 10/5 breaking ball that generated looser spin and occasional sweep to glove side in the low 50's. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing smooth paced footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Developing fluidity while funneling the baseball and worked through exchange with looser actions. Released from a lower three-quarters arm slot creating occasional carry to the bag at 74 mph. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly closed stance and large leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose hand path to contact with a line drive plane through extension. Looked to stay behind contact while employing a mid field to pull gap approach. Flashed some strength at contact when on time and squared.
