Austin Young is a 2023 RHP/1B with a 6-3 205 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends Blue Valley West. Tall solid athletic frame. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash. Side step delivery, belt high leg lift, stays compact thoughout the delivery, medium arm circle though the back, lands online. Quick arm with average extension out front. Consistently upper 80's with the four seam and two seam fastball that had arm side run. Real command of the fastballs around the zone. Changes eye levels with the pitch as well. Slider has sharp late bite in the mid 70's with spin rates consistently above 2600 and real spin efficiency to the pitch. His best present pitch and a true out pitch that he can also throw in any count. Straight change up in the upper 70's. Real proficient strike thrower with pitchability and present stuff. True potential starter type at the next level. Named to National Indoor Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
