Anthony Ruvalcaba is a 2021 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from Culver City, CA who attends St. Monica Catholic. He ran a 7.47 second sixty. A primary short stop with a lean athletic frame. On the infield he displayed good glove work, working well in sync with his feet as he works through the ball into a shuffle as he gains ground towards the bag, the arm works short through the back as he looks to get rid of it quick with average carry on his throws. On the mound he Starts with a quick side step into a belt high leg lift, he showed average arm speed on the fastball getting under it at times in the 74-76 mph range topping out at 78 mph working mostly to the arm side, he has some feel for the spin on the breaking ball with horizontal tilt and does a nice job maintaining arm speed on the changeup and landing it for strikes. Right-handed hitter, starts with an even base using a lift and replace stride to time up the swing, he showcased quick hands getting the barrel through the zone with good tempo that project for good jump off the barrel when he gets it timed up. Very good student.
