KC Fall Softball Scouting Combine Afternoon Session
Devin Simon is a 5'5, class of 2023, MIF/3B from Cascade, IA who attends Cascade HS. Devin is an obviously talented athlete and player, who possesses all the requisite ability to play college ball at a high level. Skilled and Determined! She ran an elite 3.07 20-yard dash with an equally impressive 1.03 5-yard split. Both times were among the very best in the combine. A primary infielder, Devin has elite skill on the dirt. All of her actions are advanced. She carries herself like a top athlete. Outstanding positive body language. There is a little bounce in her step. Positions easily. Plays through the fielding action with plus momentum and her glove play is smooth and consistent. Her 59-mph throws are sound and carry. All throws are highly accurate. Definite college prospect as a defender. What completes Devin's projectability is her advanced approach to hitting. She gets it! With her elite speed, having the ability to bunt and bunt for hits, should be a big part of her game. And it is! She has an advanced ability to handle the bat and the short game is a sound tool for Devin. Her approach shows off her quick twitch. Balanced at the ready, she is quick to contact. She has a flat path and gets the barrel to and through contact with force. She shows outstanding gap-to-gap pop. There is a hint of emerging power and that could come. But, make no mistake, Devin's speed game will always play and she will be an outstanding top-of-the-order hitter for the college program fortunate enough to get her on campus. Devin is a truly skilled player. Her work ethic is obvious. So too is her passion for the sport. Big upside future for this gifted individual. High ceiling!

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
