Addison Gookin is a 5'7. class of 2024, SS/RHP, 2B, 3B from Mount Vernon, IA who attends Mount Vernon HS. Addison is a young, skillfully sound, fundamentally strong player who has the foundation to grow into a certain prospect as her career continues. She ran a highly impressive 3.18 20-yard dash with a 1.12 5-yard split. Both times were among the very best in the Combine. Addison is a primary infielder and has a certain, sure, and projectable skill set. She has the absolute right idea about defense. Her feet work. She positions well and her smooth actions are commendable. Her glove plays and she has an easy transition to a strong arm. Her 52-mph throws are solid and have routine accuracy. Solid! At the plate, this RHH has a plus understanding of the bunt game which, with her advanced speed, should be a big part of her game moving forward. She has an energetic swing operation. She has a lot of movement that she incorporates into her swing path. She gets her barrel to and through contact well enough and as she matures and gains more experience at a higher competition level, this should only get better. She has an emerging power ability that should continue to grow over the next few years. Addison has the right idea about all parts of her game. Her effort level is off the charts impressive. As she gains experience and physical strength, her game will take off. There is a lot of upside promise with Addison and her game!
