Fuga Yambe is a 2020 RHP/IF, OF with a 5-9 176 lb. frame from Shibata, MG who is an international free agent. Medium build with room to fill as he develops. Posted a 6.90 second sixty yard dash time. Primary right handed pitcher, uses a mid-leg lift with a slight hip turn at the apex of his lift. Arm stabs back violently into separation then fires through to a high three-quarters arm slot. Finds excellent extension down the hill through his finish. 79-82 mph fastball possesses slight arm side run. 11-to-5 shaped curveball is slower and has a large shape. Has good feel for the pitch and consistently gets it over for a strike. Fills up the zone and mixes his two pitch mix well. In the infield, possesses athletic actions with solid footwork that moves through the baseball with rhythm and fluidity. Glove work is excellent to either side as well as on the run as his soft hands give him a chance even on poor initial reads. Arm is strong and has carry across the diamond, clocked in at 83 mph from shortstop. Fluidity carries over into the outfield, soft hands and quick feet, works through the ball with pace. Accurate with his throws to all bags. At the plate, uses an open stance with high hands that start away from his body. Stays linear through the zone, hands work well to the ball, generates consistent line drive contact. Solid backspin as his hands work down through the hitting zone. Fantastic overall barrel control.
