Tatsuya Sakai is a 2020 RHP/OF with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Daito, OS who is an international free agent. Large physical build with present athleticism. Posted a 7.13 second sixty yard dash time. Very projectable overall frame. Primary pitcher, has a short sweeping arm action from a high three-quarters arm slot. Uses a high leg lift with a hip turn at his apex. Some slight crossfire as he closes himself off slightly down the mound. Solid extension and follow through every time. 79-82 mph fastball possesses occasional arm side run. Plus 11-to-5 shaped curveball has a good tight rotation with strong late bite. Mixes in a sinking changeup at 75 mph. Shows a good feel for all of his pitches and mixes them efficiently. Arm strength is raw and has plenty of room to improve. From the outfield, attacks the ball well and is aggressive with his reads. Arm is loose and easy and showcases accuracy to all bags. Glove work is solid. At the plate, uses an even stance and shows quickness with the barrel. Not a large wight shift in the box as his swing is a bit rotational but hands work straight to the baseball. Middle to opposite field approach. Looks to put the ball in play.
