2019 Gulf Coast Prospect Showcase
Hayden Cliburn is a 2020 2B/MIF with a 5-8 180 lb. frame from Star, MS who attends Simpson Academy. Flashed a medium frame with a stocky build with a mature physical presence showing a strong lower half. Ran a 7.22 second sixty yard dash. Primary Middle Infielder who flashed clean actions with a smooth glove showing a good feel for it. Carries weight well through the baseball with an arm not overly strong but he was accurate with it from all angles. Very good coming in on the baseball. Righthanded hitter starting from a balanced look with a narrow stance. Smooth swing after he created some separation with a higher leg kick. Uphill swing path showing bat speed with strong hands manipulating the barrel. Gap to gap type approach while showing he can create some power to the pull side when he gets extended. Outstanding Student.
