Jilver Gomez is a 2023 SS with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic who attends Cenapec. Young, athletic frame with square shoulders with a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.33 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, light actions moving towards the ball with short and quick steps, fields the ball out front with two hands, softness to glove skills, extra step through the ball, short and tight release on throws, works on top well and shows carry across. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow in the box; utilizes a leg lift trigger and stays balanced through point of contact. Shows looseness to hands and shifts well through lower half, fluid stroke and repeats mechanics well. Occasionally gets uphill with path, consistent in turning over the barrel with some whip, projects with added physical strength. Excellent student.
