Mike Cesario is a 2024 C/1B, 3B with a 5-8 175 lb. frame from Nanuet, NY who attends Nanuet Union-Free. Compact, high waisted frame with some present lower half strength and room to add strength. Primary catcher that receives from a higher, side-saddled stance with softness to his hands and direct midline transfer. Gains ground out of the crouch with quick feet and god direction, works into a short arm action and delivered accurate throws to the bag. Recorded arm strength up to 75 mph from behind the plate during drills. Secondary infielder with sound defensive skill set and some upside. Moves well laterally from side-to-side, has soft hands and showed the ability to change arm angles when necessary. Recorded arm strength up to 78 mph across the diamond during drills. Right-handed hitter from a wider, open base with a pre-set had position and inward stride into launch. Uses lower half well, sinks into hips and displayed developing bat-to-ball skills. Mostly pullside contact with slightly elongated swing path, will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional refinements mechanically. Sound defensive skill set with some positional versatility and offensive prowess. Good Student.
