Jonathan Leon De Los Santos is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 5-9 159 lb. frame from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic who attends Cenapec. Medium, square shouldered frame with present strength to frame, additional room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.41 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes short steps moving towards, utilizes a big crow hop for momentum through the ball and will continue to refine overall actions, shorter arm stroke through the back, nice energy through release and works on top fo the ball. Takes short strides away from the first base bag, fields it out front, extra step through release with a longer arm stroke, can quicken release moving forward. Also pitched, high and set with a leg lift up past belt; shorter arm action with an over-the-top release point. Attacked hitters with a fastball that topped out at 73 mph, worked within the zone well, mixed a curveball with 12-6 shape and downward action at 66 mph.Righthanded hitter, begins with a narrow start and a medium hand set in the box; smaller stride moving into contact. Contact oriented approach, does a nice job of getting the barrel out front, bat speed projects with added strength. Creates some extension out front, upper body dominant swing, occasionally gets to front side early. Excellent student.
