David Escobar is a 2023 RHP/1B with a 6-1 145 lb. frame from Shrewsbury, MA who attends Shrewsbury. Long and lengthy build with plenty of room to fill out as he develops. Primary right handed pitcher, has a short arm action from a three-quarters arm slot. Good quickness to his arm action with a nice long stride down the hill. Sound mechanics with good feel for his stuff. 72-74 mph fastball possesses some natural arm side run when locating to his arm side. Mixes in a 11-to-5 shaped curveball with good late bite to it. Finds some swings and misses on the pitch as well as showing an ability to put it over the plate for a strike. Great pitchability, understands the importance of tempo and quick pitched on a few occasions. At first base, stays in front of the ball well and was meticulous with his glove work. Shows accuracy to all bags with an easy free flowing motion. At the plate, uses an upright and open stance with a quiet load. Barrel drops and gets on plane quickly and he's at his best when using the middle of the field.
