Owen Straub is a 2021 C/MIF with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Gilroy, CA who attends Gilroy. Tall and slender athletic build, has some present strength with more to come. 7.60 runner, received and blocked the ball well in games, comfortable behind the plate with sure hands and good quickness, can work on exchange and footwork throwing, has some raw arm strength. Right handed hitter, spread stance with a big back tap shift to his backside, tends to stay over his backside and lose his lower body strength, has some bat speed when he gets the barrel out but there's more there with adjustments. Good student.
