Devon Brookins is a 2020 MIF with a 5-10 168 lb. frame from Desoto, TX who attends Desoto. Medium athletic build with some present strength and room for more. Excellent runner, 6.53 in the sixty and uses his speed aggressively on the bases. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance with a low hand load, has quick hands and creates bat speed, swing is short and direct with a line drive swing plane, hits the ball out front with some jump to it, could extend more for additional power in the future. Second base tools on defense, speed is an obvious asset with his range, gets rid of the ball quickly from a low arm slot, makes very accurate throws. Speed is an impact tool but he has solid skills in all areas. Named to the South Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
