Daniel Rice III is a 2022 SS/2B/3B with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from West Greenwich, RI who attends Bishop Hendricken. Recorded a 6.90 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, compact frame with athletic look to it and room to fill out. Primary middle-infielder with sound footwork into the fielding process, clean glove actions and present arm strength across the diamond. Displays good lateral range to both sides, works downhill through the baseball with smoothness to his transfer. Recorded arm strength up to 84 mph during drills. Left-handed hitter that hits from a wide, slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and a hanging leg lift trigger. Compact stroke with good feel for the barrel and present bat speed. Whole field approach with line drive impact and carry to the gaps. Simple, repeatable stroke with short, direct swing path that translates well into game play. Fundamentally sound defender with some quick twitch athleticism and upside at the plate. Will continue to improve with minor refinements and additional strength. Good Student. Named to the 2021 New England Indoor Top Prospect List.
